This year’s DONA International conference is actually a “confluence” – a joint conference with Lamaze International. Last week the five keynote speakers were announced, but in case any of you busy doulas missed it, here is the list:

Eugene R. Declercq, PhD – Profess of community health, and obstetrics and gynecology, researcher on women’s experiences in childbirth, and technical adviser to The Business of Being Born.
Katharine D. Wenstrom, MD – Geneticist, leader in the field of maternal-fetal medicine, and professor of obstetrics and gynecology.
Ngozi Tibbs, CD(DONA), LCCE, IBCLC – Doula, childbirth educator and La Leche League Leader dedicated to serving women in at risk communities including minorities, immigrants and those of limited financial means.
Penny Simkin, PT – DONA International founder, physical therapist, childbirth educator, trainer, doula and author.
